Visit to LittleWhiz Setia Alam for Car Seat Shopping

When looking for a new car seat last weekend, we decided to visit LittleWhiz.com in Setia Alam as they are one of the shops with Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. And to our luck, Mr Louis Tan of LittleWhiz, their Certified CPS Technician Instructor was there that day.

He shared in detail on child passenger safety to the customers and gave advise on how to choose the right child car seat or booster for our kids, suitability depends on car, correct way to install the seat etc.

Earth Day 2010 – 22nd April 2010

earth_day_graphics_131

Hello everyone. Do you know that we’re celebrating Earth Day on 22nd April each year? It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in held on April 22, 1970. And this year, 2010, we’re celebrating the 40th Earth Day.

Ask yourself. What have you done, to date, to save earth?

This is the least i do to help in saving the earth:-

  • I sell recycle paper, plastics and cans.
  • I reuse plastic bags from the supermarket, instead of buying trash bin plastics.
  • I bought environmental-friendly, reusable shopping bags from supermarkets (i.e. Tesco, Giants, The Store) and use it when i go there to buy groceries.
  • I bought my own Starbucks coffee tumbler, so the each time I buy coffee from Starbucks, I help saving the paper cups.
  • I read the journals from the laptop, instead of keep on printing and use a lot of papers.
  • I requested for online bills, instead of receiving 2 or 3 bills by mail each months – to reduce paper usage.
  • I have my own mineral water bottle, and bring drinking water to wherever i go, instead of buying mineral water each time I’m out.
  • I did support the Earth Hour 28.03.10 (was at my uncle’s place – and yes, we switched off all electrical appliance).
  • I do not litter. I throw rubbish in the bins.
  • I unplugged cables for electronic devices when not in use.
  • Last but not least, I spread the words!!

“Forty years after the first Earth Day, the world is in greater peril than ever. While climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, it also presents the greatest opportunity – an unprecedented opportunity to build a healthy, prosperous, clean energy economy now and for the future.”

October is all about PINK

05.10.09

Some of you might know it, but some might not. There is something important is happening in October every year beside *ehem ehem* my birthday ;p. October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) or the Pink Ribbon is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

We, as the women should be aware of the common form of cancer that afflicting us. It's not possible to say what exactly causes a woman's breast cancer. However, research has shown that some factors might increase a woman's risk or chance of developing breast cancer.

You can just Google to read a lot of info of Breast Cancer as it is important to you, as well as for your mother sister and friends. All the important things is just at your fingertip. The same goes to the men of the women. Show your support for us!

The BCAM is supported through all over the world. Some of the famous landmarks and buildings were lit up pink to show support over pass years.

Tokyo Tower

White House

Niagara Falls

KL Tower

To all the ladies out there, wear a pink ribbon and make a different. or maybe you could wear anything pink everyday in October. T-shirt Pants Shoes Bag. Anything. Wear pink to show your support, and you should not be ashamed of it. For more, visit www.breastcancer.org.

I've pledged to show my support. Have you?

04.09.09

On our way back from KL to campus last Monday, we've stopped by at Tapah R&R to perform prayers. And there were some man asking us to pledge on something. At first we didn't really take note on what they were asking us to do. But then we read the posters/banners saying it was for the Road Safety awareness and it think it's kinda cool for us to join the campaign.

The campaign is on road safety and named the Malaysians Unite for Road Safety (MUFORS) and the MUFORS day will fall on the 9th September 2009 (090909). The MUFORS 090909 are calling all Malaysians to pledge on how to reduce accidents and save lifes and to honour their pledges on Wednesday, the 9th of September, 2009 between the hours of 9:00am-to-9:00pm.

Writing down my pledge

There are few ways to pledge; beside the one that I did. All you have to do is visit the MUFORS 090909 web and pledge via video, photo, text or SMS.

Your pledges can be as creative and crazy as possible but most importantly, do remember to honour your pledges on the 090909 and hopefully, for the rest of your life.

What's more?? The best five video and photo pledges will receive a PLUSmiles card worth RM500, and the best five text pledges will receive a PLUSmiles card worth RM300. Sounds great, right? So, what are you waiting for? Show your support; you can be the start of that change.

Let Malaysians Unite for Road Safety!

Earth Hour is back, people!!!

i first knew about this Earth Hour thing when i received a flyer in USM last year, telling us to switch of the light for an hour at a specific time given as a support to the Earth Hour campaign. Earth Hour is a campaign to make a difference to the future of our planet by making energy savings.

Switching off your lights on the Earth Hour is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.
Join Earth Hour at 8:30pm Saturday March 28 2009
