On Saturday, 11th June 2011, the Nokia Malaysia had broke the record of most people playing mobile game with the record of 2030 people. And I can proudly say I am one of them who helped breaking the record. :D

Malaysian Today Secret Phrase

Have you ever heard of the Malaysian Today fortnight newspaper? I started to read Malaysian Today after I started working in IMU as the paper can be found at colleges, universities, and popular eateries for free on Thursdays, fortnightly. Malaysian Today is not like the average tabloid you boring-ly read everyday. It is a magazine-style newspaper which gives you facts, information, so colorful and it is fun to read. Really suits their slogan: No 1 Youth Weekly. Plus,they give gift-away too!

Sentimental value vs technology

I still remember how excited I was to send and receive Hari Raya Aidilfitri cards from classmate which was mailed to my home, and received birthday cards from friends and family members during my school years. In secondary school, I made most of the birthday cards for my mum, family members and friends. When exam was around the corner, I made my friends good luck cards. Once in a while, I would make cards for anyone for no reason. Not that I make beautiful cards just that I think the sentimental value added to the hand-made cards are priceless compare to the ready-made cards.

 

 

Blogger and Twitteratis trip to Malacca for #knizamkawen

The plan to Malacca had been done since last month when the famous live blogger, @knizam94 send out his invitation card to us - the blogger and twitteratis through @azmanishak. We were so excited for the trip since most of us are going, and it would be our very first official road trip together. So, there we were on 19th February 2011, off to Malacca the Historic State. They who gathered at Ali Maju, Setiawangsa earlier that morning came pick me up at home, since I've decided last minute not to drive for the convoy. The journey started from Kuala Lumpur after the we went to Cheras to pick @piratz up.

Oh, before the journey started... we did what we do best... camwhoring!! :P

Why I don't write very personal stuff in my personal blog

I consider this blog as a personal blog as I started it as one, and I don’t really blog about specific stuffs like the one I do with my Travel Blog, well as the title says so – for travelling stuffs. But even as a personal blog, I don’t really blog about things that I feel a bit too personal to share with the readers like some other bloggers do. I am not that secretive, if you know me personally, but I have my own reasons on why I refuse to share some little part of my life. And I kind of amazed with some bloggers who really share EVERYTHING with the readers. Some of them make the blog like their own diary. And let everyone read their diary. But if you ever try to ask them don’t they think they’re being too open, you get answers like “Well, it’s my blog, I write everything I want”.

Nokia N8 – Social Networking made easy

If you’ve been reading my blog for quite some times, you would came across this post and know that I am a total social network addict especially Twitter. I check my Twitter and Facebook for like once every 5 minutes.

When I first received the Nokia N8, I wonder if its social networking-friendly. What I did first was to download all available Social Network application from the Ovi Store, and it was easy. Thanks for my Maxis Unlimited Data plan, I don’t have to worry to download as many application as I want :P

I was hanging out in the campus library (yes, hangout, not studying :P ) with a friend when suddenly my phone vibrated. I saw a non-familiar number but since it’s KL number (+603..) it could be any of my cousins’ offices number. I picked it up.

No, the caller wasn’t one of my cousins neither anyone I knew. She’s just someone who deliver a good news to me that almost make me shout in the library. She asked me to keep the news to myself until it is officially announced but being me, I just can’t keep it to myself… -__-'

Seperti yang hangat diwar-warkan di internet sejak berminggu yang lalu, maka tiba lah hari yang dinanti2kan, 23 Oktober 2010 untuk majlis/parti/perjumpaan pengkicau2 Malaysia, #Oct23rdtwtup kat Pusat Komuniti, TTDI.

Tunggu Aman, Paeh & Syah kat KL Sentral pastu gerak pergi TTDI. Masa tu Khairil dengan Piratz dah tweet cakap diorang kat sana. Masa lepas park kereta, Wawan sms tp x sempat reply kereta dia dah sampai kat depan mata.

Ok memang malas nak tulis panjang2, sebab dah konfem2 banyak blog lain cerita tentang ke-happening-an #Oct23rdtwtup nih! Tapi… kalau korang ada kat sana masa tu.. lagi terasa keohseman tweet up nih. Betul, tak tipu! :P

Astro B.Player World Cup Contest Winners

Well, I did. And since I watch it online and I’m a twitter addict, I joined the Astro B.Player “Watch & Tweet” contest for fun. I have been very unlucky with contest. I’ve join a lot of contest but I seldom win. Kesian, kan? :( As far as I can remember, the only contest I won was the one on Sasha Bashir’s blog – the Sunsilk contest.

Anyway, I was announced as one of the consolation winners for the Astro B.Player contest and won myself RM100 worth of movie vouchers. :D

Yayyy!! I am so excited (even it’s just the consolation) since like I said – I was always unlucky when it comes to contest :D

Honestly I can’t remember what did I tweet (cos there were like a lot!) and don’t have any idea which of the tweets that actually help me won this. But that’s not a big problem, as long as I win. :P

Am I addicted to Twitter?

I registered my Twitter account on 22nd May 2009. At first I don’t tweet much because I don’t really know how to interact with strangers online, after leaving the mIRC world years ago. Some of my earliest twitter friends were Baiti the bestie, Syazaliyana & Miasuraya the juniors, Ekha Shana & An the cousins and some strangers.

As time flies, I come to realize that I’ve been tweeting with the new strangers i met online more than the friends I have in the real world. It seems like they, the Tweeps / Tweeples / Twiends are always there for me whenever I need them.

When I was writing my thesis, when I was in the boring-7-hours train journey, when I was waiting for some friends at the coffee shop - they are always there. When I wanted to share my happiness, sadness, good news, bad news, when I was being all emotional, and stressed up because I was tired of reading and writing – they’ve never failed me. Yes, even though I never met most of them in real life.

A few weeks ago, I was home and I don’t really tweet much and the laziness to tweet prolonged until a few days after I came back to campus. Then, there were some of my Twitter friends asking where have I been and why don’t I tweet. At first I don’t think it was THAT obvious until I tweet “Is it so obvious that I tweet less lately?” and i received lots of mentions saying yes, it is! How sweet of them to actually realize that I’ve been MIA from the Twitterland. :’)

The thing is – why is it so obvious when I tweet less than usual? Am I that addicted to twitter that I tweet a lot that when I suddenly went MIA everyone notice?

I remember B made a joke of me being a Twitter addict. She said that I need to go to a rehab and should go by “Hi, my name is Julia. I’m a Twitter addict.” Haishh. See, girlfriend also made fun of me being addicted to Twitter.

B also never failed to be there in Twitter when I needed her, and always accompany me if I’m meeting my tweeps. Thanks, sunshine!

Lemme think. After I woke up everyday, the first thing I do is check my phone for sms, then twitter (if my laptop is off), then switch on the laptop, and open TweetDeck. Everywhere I go, I’ll check my Twitter at least once every hour - even though I’m not tweeting or replying - I’ll check the timeline. And the last thing before I go to bed, I’ll shutdown my laptop, but continue checking Twitter on the phone. Hmmm…

i know that i have like 3 to 4 posts needed to be update *sigh* (note to self: need to start drafting one by one pronto!!)

Yes. As a mayor of several places *ehem* (mostly in Penang tho) in Foursquare, I went to the Foursquare Day (4sqdayKL) last Friday (16/4/2010) at Starbucks Uptown. Thanks to girlfriend, Baiti and Ruban for the company :D

Oh, send Mr.Boifren to the workshop the other day for some touch-up, and now he’s back – handsome,macho,charming - without any (obvious) scars. Yayyy!! lalala~
