Pengalaman berniaga bersama Kids Entrepreneurs Club di HG Concept Penang

Hari Ahad yang lepas, Balqis dan Bilal buat pertama kali buka booth dan berniaga sendiri setelah banyak kali menyuarakan keinginan nak cuba berniaga. Kebetulan Mummy terjumpa satu post di Facebook FirstSeed tentang bazaar/booth yang memang khas untuk kanak-kanak berniaga.

Selalunya kids bazaar ni memang dah banyak diadakan kat kawasan Kuala Lumpur atau Selangor tapi ni akhirnya jumpa yang diadakan di Pulau Pinang.

Kids Entrepreneurs Club ni di bawah kelolaan HG Concept, sebuah pusat penjualan pokok di Jalan Lahat, Pulau Pinang. Bila dapat tau tentang Kids Entrepreneurs Club bazaar tu, terus Mummy tempah satu booth walaupun tak tahu lagi nak jual apa.

Aktiviti hujung minggu - DIY Kraf Handbag Kain Felt

Setelah lama tak buat aktiviti dengan Balqis, hujung minggu lepas akhirnya berjaya meluangkan masa sedikit dengan Balqis untuk buat aktiviti DIY.

Kit DIY ni sebenarnya dah lama dah ada kat rumah, sejak musim Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) yang awal-awal lagi. Tapi sebab banyak buat aktivit lain, lepas tu ada fasa-fasa Mummy malas-malas nak buat aktiviti, hehe, jadi asyik tertangguhlah.

Hujung minggu hari tu, Mummy tanya Balqis nak buat aktiviti tak? Seronok dia nak buat aktiviti DIY Non-Woven Handbag dari kain felt ni. Lepas tu alang-alang tu, kita buat video sekali. Dah lama juga tak buat video Balqis ber-DIY.

Mini Karnival Al Haq in cooperation with Kindness Malaysia

We went to Mini Karnival al Haq on Malaysia Day, 16 September 2019 at Rumah Al Haq, Dato' Keramat Kuala Lumpur. The Mini Karnival Al Haq was held to get funding to cover the costs of their operations and other expenses in order to keep the residents safe and comfortable there.

There were many interesting activities that was organized besides selling of food and things, including Nerf Games, sand art, bayblades, face painting and many more.

The mini carnival was also attended by many other children from other shelter homes around Kuala Lumpur.

Birthday Party with KFC Chicky & Friends at AEON Big Ampang

We actually didn't plan big for Bilal's second birthday party. All we had in mind was to buy a cake and some food and hang out with family at home. But my mom got another idea and she wanted to throw her grandson a birthday party at any fast food restaurant instead. After giving some thoughts and had some discussions, we said okay to Nenek. So we had Bilal's 2nd birthday party at KFC Aeon Big Ampang the day after his actual birthday (because of the availability of the slot). 

We choose KFC as our party place as it is obviously everyone's favorite fast food restaurant. KFC Aeon Big Ampang is the nearest KFC store from our place which have the birthday party service. Plus point that the party area is spacious and is separated from the main KFC dining area.

Feeding the farm animals at Audi Dream Farm, Balik Pulau

We found out about Audi Dream Farm months ago when I saw some friends postings on going there but then, we forgot about the place until recently so we decided to take the kids there since Balqis had been bugging us to take her to the zoo. FYI, Penang tak ada zoo ye. So, Taiping is the nearest and we just been there last few months too.

Audi Dream Farm is located in Sungai Rusa, Balik Pulau, Penang. Just Waze "Audi Dream Farm" and it will take you there straight away.

For MyKad holders, the admission fee was RM 10 each for adult, RM 5 for children 3 to 12 years old and free for below 3. For animal feeding, the basket cost RM15 including several animal foods, pre-packed.

Taiping Zoo, Ansari Famous Cendol and Mee Udang Mak Jah

We went to Taiping the last weekend before Ramadhan. Balqis had been asking us to bring her to hotel. She basically imagine to get to go to "hotel Terengganu" again because obviously she had so much fun when we were there. Primula Beach Resort, Kuala Terengganu has a fun slide and pool with views and a private beach for some sand play.

So anyway, since we obviously won't make a trip to Kuala Terengganu again in near future, we make a rather impromptu plan two days trip to Taiping as it is one of the nearest city and has some fun place for kids too.

We started our journey on Saturay morning to Taiping by car. The travel took around 40 minutes only from our home. We went straight to the Zoo Taiping as it was one of our main agenda for the trip.

Penang Science Cluster @ Heritage, Georgetown, Penang

Penang Science Cluster (PSC) @ Heritage is located at at the Wisma Yeap Chor Ee, Georgetown, Penang. It was launched on 5 December 2015.

PSC is a non-profit organisation with a mission to build a pipeline of talent in by sparking interest in science and technology, creating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the youngsters. PSC inspires students through hands-on, inquiry-based science and technology programs.

Really tall and long shelf at BookXcess in Gurney Paragon, Penang

So, have you heard about the newly opened book store with a really tall and long shelf?

It's the well know parent of the great Big Bad Wolf book sales, the BookXcess Bookstore now opened in Gurney Paragon mall, Penang!

Located at Level 7 and 8 of Gurney Paragon Mall, this is their 8th outlet and the first store out of the central region! The book store covers over 26 000 sq ft with countless numbers of shelves.

It is also an insta-worthy bookstore, trust me. Too bad I was too occupied with the kids that I did not get the chance to get myself captured for insta purpose lol.

DIY Kids Art & Craft at Craftomon's, MyTown Kuala Lumpur

Craftomon's by Open Playschool is a children activity store in MyTown shopping mall, Kuala Lumpur. The Craftomon's store is located at Level 1, in front of the escalator near link bridge to IKEA.

We stumbled upon this store while we were there and Balqis requested to do some painting. There are a lot of art and craft activities to do there.  Some of the DIY arts and craft things that you may purchase to bring home, or do it there at the store are key-chain, fridge magnet, coin banks, photo frames and many more.

Of course we like this store. Even though both of us are from science background, we always encourage Balqis to do arts & crafts. And she herself likes to do all those painting, cutting, doodling.

Tips for Eating Out with Kids

Eating out is usually a great treat for the whole family. Mummy gets to rest from cooking while the whole family get to enjoy good food.

But since we have kids, we always have to think on how to get them occupy at the dining table. Of course we do not want them, especially Balqis, to run around the restaurant. And Bilal would be easily bored sitting at the table for too long since he's in the exploring phase. 

And we have no (or very little time) smart phone policy for the kids, hence we have to be creative and think of other ways to keep them busy and comfortable at the same time. So we can have our meals happily, too! LOL.

Open House Event Space, Bukit Mertajam, Penang

Open House Event Space is a newly opened event space located in Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Perai, Penang. The Open House is a kid-friendly open space which cater a smaller crowd with smaller budget place for meet-up, party, event or easy-going talk and workshop.

Jalan-jalan Terengganu Part 3

So, hari terakhir dalam program Jalan-Jalan Terengganu empat beranak diteruskan di hari terakhir. Sekejap sangat rasa berjalan memandangkan hari 2 cuma dapat melawat 2 tempat je. Sobsss.

Seperti semalamnya, hari ketiga juga dimulakan dengan sarapan di hotel saja. Sarapan di hotel Primula Beach Resort boleh tahan sedap dengan variasi nya. Yang paling tip top - of cos Nasi Dagang. Sebab memang puas hati dengan Nasi Dagang nya, tak terasa nak cari di luar sana. Nasib baik second day still ada menu yang sama. Selain tu, ada toast, salad bar, mee goreng, nasi lemak, cereals, omelette panas-panas (mine is cheese omelette of cos!), bubur dan macam-macam lagi.

Sebahagian dari sarapan Mummy yang sedap enak dan tak sabar Mummy nak makan yumm yumm!

Jalan-jalan Terengganu Part 2

Pagi hari kedua tu, bangun awal dgn hajat nak tengok sunrise kononnya. Tapi sebab anak-anak tidur, maka terfikir lah Mummy, macam mana nak pegi tengok sunrise nya. Kesian tengok budak-budak ni tidur tak sampai hati nak bangunkan. So, batalkan je la niat di hati tu.

So anyway, lepas breakfast kami keluar menuju ke Taman Tamadun Islam yang terletak di Pulau Wan Man. Sampai sana nak beli tiket, baru decide nak ambil pakej River Cruise dan Taman Tamadun Islam. Agak rugi masa kat situ sebab tunggu next trip untuk River Cruise dekat setengah jam juga.

Homemade pumpkin puree with Autumnz Baby Food Processor

When Balqis turned 6 months old, I was so excited to make her first puree to feed her with all scheduled and all. I made her food in a very conventional way - steamed on the kitchen, blend with a blender - one by one. I was just a student back then and had all the time needed to prepare her food.

Aktiviti Messy Play di Dr Nurhaya Lactation Centre

'Messy Play' atau sensory play adalah penting untuk perkembangan kanak-kanak kecil dengan memberikan mereka pelbagai cara belajar secara tidak langsung yang menyeronokkan.

'Messy Play' dapat membantu kanak-kanak dalam banyak cara, untuk bertenang, meluahkan perasaan mereka, bereksperimen dengan bahan-bahan yang berbeza, belajar tentang tekstur dan mengasahkan koordinasi mata-tangan atau melatih kemahiran menuang, mengukur dan mencampur.

Ia juga merupakan aktiviti membantu meningkatkan kemahiran sosial walaupun tidak terlalu bergantung pada kata-kata. Kanak-kanak boleh bermain bersama dan berkongsi hasil penemuan mereka dari 'Messy Play' tanpa perlu menjelaskan perkara-perkara tersebut secara lisan.

SO, hari tu Mummy bawak Balqis untuk join aktiviti Messy Play di Dr Nurhaya Lactation Centre. Seronok sangat Balqis bermain dengan semua "mess" yang ada. Harap dengan join dan melalukan aktiviti seperti ini, dapat lah membantu meningkatkan motor skill dia. Sebenarnya, salah satu sebab nak bawak dia sebab nak bagi dia bersosial sikit. "Social skill" pun penting untuk perkembangan anak-anak jugak.

Visit to KL Tower Mini Zoo

The KL Tower Mini Zoo is located just before the entrance to the KL Tower. The concept is similar to Farm in The City in Seri Kembangan. I think it is managed by the same company/group. Some of the animals in the zoo are birds, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, rabbits, monkeys, foxes, raccoons, tortoises and alpacas. 

Balqis loved the alpaca so much that she keeps on telling us about how she touched the alpaca till today.
