Open House Event Space, Bukit Mertajam, Penang

Open House Event Space is a newly opened event space located in Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Perai, Penang. The Open House is a kid-friendly open space which cater a smaller crowd with smaller budget place for meet-up, party, event or easy-going talk and workshop.

Jalan jalan Terengganu Part 1

Setelah lama tak berjalan-jalan, akhirnya Mummy dan Daddy buat keputusan untuk bawa Balqis dan Bilal ke Kuala Terengganu alang-alang dah ambil cuti yang panjang untuk hantar mak ke Kompleks Tabung Haji Sepang untuk menunaikan ibadah haji pada tahun ini. Kiranya, percutian ni officially percutian pertama Bilal dan first trip for us as a family of 4. Kami pilih untuk ke Terengganu memandangkan kami dah berada di Kuala Lumpur, so perjalanan dah dekat berbanding kalau nak ke Terengganu ulang-alik dari Penang.

Kami hantar mak ke Kompleks Tabung Haji Sepang hari Khamis. Waktu lapur diri tengahari, lepas tu mak terus masuk dengan group dan kami terus gerak ke Terengganu. Kami singgah di Kemaman dulu malam tu sebab plan nak jumpa dengan kawan se-universiti yang ada kat Kemaman. Alang-alang dah jalan ke sana kan. So, malam tu kami dinner dengan salah seorang sahabat di Restoran Terapung Bakau Tinggi, Kemaman. 

Esoknya, kami ber-reunion kecil-kecilan sambil breakfast dengan 2 sahabat dari USM - Azrul dan Fakira. Diorang yang cadang makan kat kedai makan ni, katanya antara kedai sarapan yang terkenal. Sampai-sampai kat Kedai Abezi Nasi Kerabu Kambing Bakar ni, memang ramai orang dah. Antara menu yang ada kat kedai ni, of cos la Nasi Kerabu Kambing Bakar, ada roti canai dan murtabak, nasi berlauk, nasi lemak dan macam-macam lagi.

The Annual Iftar with Girlfriends

One of the best break-fasting sessions I had every year would be the annual break-fasting sessions with my lovely girlfriends. You know how some little things might look little, but actually touched your heart the most? I have one very touching memories of the iftar with girlfriends in 2010 when I had issues of coming back home for the annual session. I love you girls lots you knowwww :')

So anyway, we had our iftar on the Friday, 3rd August 2012. Except that this year, it should be call "Iftar with Girlfriends..and families". Yes... we were celebrating the first appearance of husbands and FOUR babies during the iftar! Last year, there were only us ladies, with three of them were pregnant and this year, four of them came with husbands and babies. We had always to go Little Penang Cafe, but due to not-so-comfortable to bring in babies' stroller etc., we needed to find somewhere else. After several discussion of where to go what to eat - we've decided to go to Pizza Hut, a place for (mostly) all. :P

Taste of Malaysian fruits

One thing I like about this employee engagement thing is that we get everything for free. After the free tickets and pop corn Madagascar 3 night out, yesterday we got to eat Malaysian local fruits for free! I did not plan to join as I had a meeting scheduled to be finished at 5.30pm and I don't like the idea of going home late as I would be stuck in the traffic congestion. But since the meeting finished so much earlier than expected, and I kind of fall for the Chancellery sisters' persuasion,  so I went to the pesta buah tempatan.

I bet that most of you who is still single or in a relationship, 24 and above have been asked with that question by the makcik makcik especially during hari raya or family member's wedding kan kan kan? Some of you might find it ok, senyum jawab dengan ikhlas but I know some of you feel totally the opposite - menyampah, jawab dengan sakit hati jiwa raga, and ada yang terasa juga. Tapi ok la jugak kan kalau yang tanya tu makcik makcik - sinonim dengan perkataan busybody mengambil berat. -___-"

But have you girls been asked that particular question by your guy friends? And then they make comments on you dengan jawapan - jawapan yang diberikan? I do. In fact there are many guy friends - married or not - have asked me the same question. Yang buat sakit hati nya adalah bila mereka memberikan komen sesuka hati diorang je. Here are some of the comments/assumptions made by them that I've compiled.

Besides went for food hunting in Penang last weekend, I also went to Kulim to visit my lovely, very own Buttercup and Blossom - Zydah and Nurul and their princess. Zydah and Nurul had been a very close friend to me since my first year in USM, back in 2004.

USM Bloggers nights out

Finally setelah asyik nak keluar sama-sama tapi x pernah menjadi, kami (some of USM bloggers) berjaya mengumpulkan diri dan keluar bersama sebelum mereka-mereka yang di Tahun Akhir meninggalkan USM dan meneruskan kerjaya masing2. Terima kasih semua, lebih2 lagi orang2 yang x abes exam lagi. ;p

1st time jumpa semua (selain Hadi, Sally & Nik) was the night before yesterday (check live update from Hadi & Sally). Saje melepakkan diri di Bistro Mohamad, Nibong Tebal. Masa tu plan2 konon nak keluar lagi, tapi disebabkan ke-busy-an masing2 – ada yang x habis exam lagi, ada yang nak balik kampung halaman dah, ada yang nak pergi Terengganu for scuba test etc. – so we made the plan up utk keluar dinner yesterday.

Oh, FYI, Sally is a guy, okay. Haha.

Lepas dinner, they wanted to hangout somewhere since some of us still need foods (haisshh~ ;p), konon nye nak lepak Pelita for soups, tapi panas. Nak tempat aircond konon. isk. So tempat persinggahan seterusnya.. McDonald’s.

Kat McDonald’s bumped into another USM Bloggers, DeeDee. We finally met for the first time also. :D Kate je duduk sekampus tapi x pernah jumpe pun. Macam la USM Kampus Kejuruteraan ni besar sgt pun. :P

My lovely Buttercup, Siti Noorzidah Mohd Sabri is finally married to the man of her life, Wan Hassanol Bolkiah. The akad was said by Abg Wan after the Asar prayer at Masjid AlJamiul Makmur, Kulim Kedah. My best friend plus ex-roommate is now officially taken! Congratulations, Zyd & Abg Wan! :D

Isn’t she lovely..? :’)So honoured to be the one to drive my Buttercup to the mosque. 

She’s so happy!! I’m so happy for you too!!

The next day was the reception ceremony.

After years of waiting.. Alhamdulillah~   

(I went back home on Saturday night to attend another wedding in Kuala Lumpur, but that’s a whole different story.)

My dearie Blossom, Nurul Akma Ruhani is engaged to her sweetheart, Ecam, held in her hometown in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, which I didnt attend. Uyu, so sorry that I couldn’t make it, thanks to the 2nd year lab that I need to conduct. –_-“ btw, you look beautiful and I’m happy for you ;) And thanks for the mms. Kenapa saya rasa girlfriend saya sangat mengada-ngada?

 

Sebab pertama… sebab dia pergi Singapura untuk menonton konsert Paramore. di ulangi, Paramore ok! ok dia dah ajak tapi sebab saya baru pulang dari bercuti kesana so agak tak ada bajet nak pergi lagi sekali dan ke konsert tu. Tapi tak kira. Still mengada jugak.

Kedua… dah la dia dah pergi, saya dah cemburu dan sebagainya.. boleh tak pulak dia menghantar khidmat pesanan ringkas (hebat gila tau nama penuh dlm BM :p ) a.k.a SMS menyatakan… “Going in stadium weehoo!” pada malam kejadian, so saya menjerit-jerit kebengangan kecemburuan ketensionan di dalam bilik.

Paling tak boleh belah punya mengada.. dalam banyak gambar-gambar yang di ambil di Singapura, boleh tak die nak tunjuk satu gambar ni dulu,sanggup photo-sharing di YM, sebelum upload gambar-gambar lain di Facebook. Nak tau x gambar apa? Ni la gambar yang dimaksudkan………

Malam Persada Kencana, IPS USM

Last Friday the 13th (huhu), i went to a Malam Persada Kencana (The Golden Pavillion Night) organized by the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS), USM as the closing of the Postgraduate Month.

Malam Persada Kencana is the appreciation night, to celebrate and recognise the achivements of USM Postgraduate students; who had done well in their research area, journal published and thesis writing. Two of my Supervisor students were awarded that night, so as to celebrate, he treat some of his students to the dinner. Hehe. Thanks, Prof!

GEMS big bang carnival

last week i was at home, again! it was totally unplanned. days before my cousin Along a.k.a Nida called and asked if i wanna join her to open a booth for the GEMS Big Bang Carnival. Both of us own a blogshop. i knew about the carnival through the lovely Hanis Zalikha's and her sister Liana Ezzana's blogs. 
So due to no-plan-for-the-weekend plus the i-might-be-boring-lepaking-at-room-on-the-weekend, i told Along that i would be back and join her. I might as well do the clearance stock sale for my blogshop items.


So the GEMS Big Bang Carnival was held at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa from 9am to 6pm. It was held by the GEMS participant, Liana Ezzana was one of the organizer. She was so gracious to work with.

I soooo wanna thanks mum for dropping by Taman Tasik Titiwangsa later that evening after went for a wedding in Keramat. She came with cousin Diba, Effa and my aunty to show us support :)

and my girlfriend Baiti came after went for a wedding also. haishh why la so many wedding~

 

and while lepaking at our booth, chit chatting, suddenly Liana came with a lovely lady and said.. "Hi, ni adik saya. kenal kan?" Bloggers must've known this lovely lady sekali pandang je.

Fewiiitttt Hanis Zalikha was there wehhh. depan mata. she's sooooo beautiful in person. she's look exactly like she is in the pictures. Kalau letak ShahRukh Khan depan mata pon i x pandang kot. :p

She was there to support her sister, her mother Nani Rostam who open a booth selling cookies & cakes for hantaran and her little siblings, the Monster Jambu owners.

at around 545pm we were ready to pack as the carnival would end at 6pm. then i saw Hanis came to our booth, again! She looked at the second hand novels i was letting go (due to x cukup tempat nak place my new books. oh, no i didn't let go any of Sheldon's) and she bought two of them!!! My novels are now Hanis'. :D :D

And dengan hati yang riang ria sebab jumpa si manis Hanis Zalikha (baru jumpa Hanis, kalau la yang dtg tu Adam ke Zahiril Adzim ker..mesti sampai pengsan kot :p) kami pun pulang ke rumah.

It was indeed a great day. I gained experience selling my items at an open booth, at an open carnival like this. Thanks Along for asking me to join.

Just now Baiti darling told me she was thinking of interviewing Hanis Zalikha for the personality column in StarMetro. She's still waiting for the reply. Hope Hanis will agree to do it :)
