Another princess in the family

Atuk's grandchildren are mostly girl. Only two of the fifteen cousins are boy. But when it comes to Atuk's greatgrandkids before Balqis was born, there is only Nurin and the other are six boys. So everyone was eager to know if we were having a girl so that Nurin would have a new friend and there'll be a girl in the house. And so when Balqis was born, Nurin was one of the happiest - she now has a girl friend among the second-cousins.

During the mid of my pregnancy, my cousin Angah found out she was pregnant too. She really wanted a baby girl, and was told that she was carrying a baby girl during ultrasound check ups. Although she had already choose a name (unofficially) for the baby girl, she did not put her hopes too high.

Angah's first son Syawal named the baby in mama's stomach Sofea. As in Princess Sofea. Sofea the First. LOL. He would get mad if we call the baby Pia. He would firmly say the baby name is Sofea, not Pia.

So anyhow, Angah had succesfully gave birth to a new princess of the family on 6 April 2015, Alhamdulillah, and had officially name her baby girl Anna Sofea. I had always be one of the earliest to visit my cousins after giving birth cos I could not wait to see their babies, but this time around, I was not in KL anymore.. I was so jealous that everyone keep on posting pictures of them with baby Sofea on Whatsapp group. I only see the baby on the 7th day when we went back home last weekend sobss.

Welcome to the world, Anna Sofea

The kitchen cabinet project

My love for DIY stuff broadened from just making handmade card, simple handcraft, beading my own wedding dress or scrapbooking to home décor and furnishing. After the kononnya successful DIY projects at home, which I call Projek DIY AminJulia 1.0 and 2.0, I asked husband for more DIY projects. So we decided to do a makeover to our old cupboard to a simple kitchen cabinet to place our some still-in-the-box wedding gifts.

Yes, we did our projects including painting in the living room. -____-"

The bookshelf project

When we first moved to our new home, we didn't really fill it up with furnitures and cabinets and extra decorations. We only brought the furnitures we already have, the ones we bought when we were renting in Puchong, Selangor. We were kinda tight on budget as we needed to prioritize i.e. the grill, awning, tiles etc. So after weeks and months, we started to think about decorating our home sweet home. As the books were brought from the old house are  a lot, therefore, one of the important furniture that we need to set up is a bookshelf. And man, nice bookshelves are not that cheap! So we came up with the idea to do it ourselves using old, unused cabinet and shelves.

Basically we have three different cabinet and shelves. One is the green DIY cabinet bought at hypermarket and another two are the IKEA white shelves. Since the study table which would be placed near the cabinet is dark brown in color, we decided to paint our bookshelf dark brown too.

Hijrah

Alhamdulillah... syukur for the rezeki given by Allah swt to husband and I from the beginning of 2013. We were given the opportunity to be His guest earlier in February. And now we've moved to a new home - the place we can finally call OUR HOME.

Kita hanya merancang, Tuhan yang menentukan

I've never thought I would move out from my lovely city of Kuala Lumpur. Been born and bred in the centre of Kuala Lumpur, I've always thought I would end up settling down there, too. It was like an unwritten rule - those who is going to marry me must be willing to move to KL. Hahaha. Well, that was the plan. But Allah has better plan for me. After 4 months living separately - me in KL while husband was in Penang - I moved to Penang to follow my husband (and my dream *wink*).

To make the decision to move here was not that easy since I am the only child and should take care of my single-mother who is still living and working in KL. But of course, as a wife, the responsibility towards the husband is more than the parent after we're married. After lots of istikharah and discussion with husband, we've decided to got us a place of our own here in Simpang Ampat, Penang earlier this year. And now we've officially moved to our new home.

Last few weeks were hectic weeks. With mum being hospitalized and the moving plan needed to proceed, I thank the in-laws very much for helping us setting up few things necessary before we move our thing. We're still setting up the house, doing this and that. I am so excited to do the gardening since I've never got the chance to do that before. I dont know if the plants will grow up well anyway, but still I have a lot of things in mind I want to plant. :p

So tiring but soooo happpyyyy! :D

Preparing the soil for my so-call garden :p

Will post lots of pictures of my plant (if it ever grow).

The Annual Iftar with Girlfriends

One of the best break-fasting sessions I had every year would be the annual break-fasting sessions with my lovely girlfriends. You know how some little things might look little, but actually touched your heart the most? I have one very touching memories of the iftar with girlfriends in 2010 when I had issues of coming back home for the annual session. I love you girls lots you knowwww :')

So anyway, we had our iftar on the Friday, 3rd August 2012. Except that this year, it should be call "Iftar with Girlfriends..and families". Yes... we were celebrating the first appearance of husbands and FOUR babies during the iftar! Last year, there were only us ladies, with three of them were pregnant and this year, four of them came with husbands and babies. We had always to go Little Penang Cafe, but due to not-so-comfortable to bring in babies' stroller etc., we needed to find somewhere else. After several discussion of where to go what to eat - we've decided to go to Pizza Hut, a place for (mostly) all. :P

Sha, Amie, Azid, Hanie, Natrah, Baiti, Fadilah, me, Naddy, Eda, Abg Ham, Shafiq - and babies Nidal, Raihan, Syasha.

Dugaan di bulan Ramadhan

Semalam pagi-pagi masuk ofis terus siap2 kene pegi Kuala Pilah, ada pegawai KPT nak visit Clinical School sana so bos suruh ikut dia pegi. Agak teruja sebab dah lama tak pergi Kuala Pilah, sejak meninggalkan KMNS dalam 2004. Semua org duk cakap dah tak lalu Bukit Putus, so dah tak pening-pening.

Bubbles' new patchwork sling bag

When I go travel, I always need another bag  beside the backpack to bring my stuff (camera, purse, handphones, tissues etc) here and there. I don't prefer ladies handbag because it won't look nice with my shoes. I normally wear sneakers or just sandals, with exception to flats once in a while. And I prefer sling bag than a tote. I just feel more comfortable and secure as and when I need to move fast.

GEMS big bang carnival

10.11.09

last week i was at home, again! it was totally unplanned. days before my cousin Along a.k.a Nida called and asked if i wanna join her to open a booth for the GEMS Big Bang Carnival. Both of us own a blogshop. i knew about the carnival through the lovely Hanis Zalikha's and her sister Liana Ezzana's blogs.
So due to no-plan-for-the-weekend plus the i-might-be-boring-lepaking-at-room-on-the-weekend, i told Along that i would be back and join her. I might as well do the clearance stock sale for my blogshop items.

So the GEMS Big Bang Carnival was held at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa from 9am to 6pm. It was held by the GEMS participant, Liana Ezzana was one of the organizer. She was so gracious to work with.

me, at our booth

What else were there at the Big Bang Carnival???

Vespa show

Aiskrim Malaysia by Monster Jambu

Special appearance by Maya Karin

besides booths there were also
 bands
muslimah fashion show
paintball
telematch
blood donation
etc etc etc

I soooo wanna thanks mum for dropping by Taman Tasik Titiwangsa later that evening after went for a wedding in Keramat. She came with cousin Diba, Effa and my aunty to show us support :)

and my girlfriend Baiti came after went for a wedding also. haishh why la so many wedding~

and while lepaking at our booth, chit chatting, suddenly Liana came with a lovely lady and said.. "Hi, ni adik saya. kenal kan?" Bloggers must've known this lovely lady sekali pandang je.
Fewiiitttt Hanis Zalikha was there wehhh. depan mata. she's sooooo beautiful in person. she's look exactly like she is in the pictures. Kalau letak ShahRukh Khan depan mata pon i x pandang kot. :p
She was there to support her sister, her mother Nani Rostam who open a booth selling cookies & cakes for hantaran and her little siblings, the Monster Jambu owners.

sila jeles ye kawan kawan ;p

at around 545pm we were ready to pack as the carnival would end at 6pm. then i saw Hanis came to our booth, again! She looked at the second hand novels i was letting go (due to x cukup tempat nak place my new books. oh, no i didn't let go any of Sheldon's) and she bought two of them!!! My novels are now Hanis'. :D :D

Some of the second hand novels

And dengan hati yang riang ria sebab jumpa si manis Hanis Zalikha (baru jumpa Hanis, kalau la yang dtg tu Adam ke Zahiril Adzim ker..mesti sampai pengsan kot :p) kami pun pulang ke rumah.

It was indeed a great day. I gained experience selling my items at an open booth, at an open carnival like this. Thanks Along for asking me to join.

Belated birthday bumper issue hehe

31.10.09

So it has been 10 days past my birthday. I am now 24 years and 10 days old. isk. But nvm.. i'll always be young at heart :p

I realize i haven't really blog about how my birthday was. As you can see the cake in my previous post with the cute Bubbles on it was prepared for me for the surprise early celebration by my dearest sistah and friends. They really took me by surprised. and i hate you kakak for telling me lies about not coming to campus that day! I super love that cake. It have 'me' on it. I asked Nurin when i meet her last week if she has see my birthday cake. She said yes (I mms-ed her aunty the cake pict days earlier) and was kinda pissed sbb jelous. hahaha boleh belagak dengan budak kecik tu. best best best. talking about being 24 huh. blagak dengan budak 4 thn. huhu
i was not really in a good mood during the birthday because of some things. i tried my best to forget whatever happen and just being happy for sake of my own birthday.

the day after, hadi asked me if i wanna go lunch with him, sally and supposedly nik (sape suh g lunch awal sgt kan dah kene tinggal :p). we went to seoul garden with my head and my mind ntah ke mana2 jugak (sorry hadi & sally) but thanks to u both for making me laugh. i have no photo, again due to mood yang menghilangkan diri. but sally posted this. ;)

i went back on thursday, the 22nd. singgah ipoh to see kakak. went to jusco ipoh with kakak & ikmal, had lunch at sushi king (finally ikmal makan sushi lalalala)

then went to batu gajah (cousin kak lina's hubby's kampung), balik ditemani budak kesayangan itu. penat layan dia membebel dalam perjalanan. but half way, tido.

the next day, went to a dentist for a makeover :p super duper love it!! thanksss Dr.Fauziah. such a great birthday present for my own self.

later went to dinner with mum & cousin Diba. a treat for my birthday, of course. so we went to the Hale's Kitchen at Plaza Rah, Jalan Raja Abdullah, Kampung Baru for a western dinner. it was our first time there and the foods were great. btw, the outlet’s name was taken from the old name for Jalan Raja Abdullah, which was Hale Road.
On Saturday, Baiti, Nadia & I went to Eda's brother's wedding at Bukit Antarabangsa.
We technically met Sharmi at the wedding and made plan to go to OU since it's the nearest. It has been a while since I last go there pon. Sorry Eda x dapat join sama. Next time k, darl!
So we went for a coffee first. Besides the girls, there were also Ruban and Zikri.
After the starbucking moments with some gossiping activities, we went around window shopping. I have an eyes on a Blay heels. looks like the one I want at Nichi. but unfortunately.. no more shoes for julia. :'( i spent too much on heels/sandals/shoes in 2009. haisshh! beli for Raya Haji acceptable x? :p

But i get myself this..
....and a ring. nice isn't it? both from Diva. habis jugak akhirnya duit, even not for the heels..huhu

next we went for dinner at Charms. and pretty boy Ariff came. at last.
oh. no picts of Ruban & Zikri? biar lah. go see in Facebook jer la. hehe

and on Sunday i went to a Bengkel Asas DSLR. i might've known the basic use of DSLR through some reading but i think it was good to join a class as they teach u hands on, right. furthermore..it was organized by Itudio Studio. and the chance to meet the one and only Sue Anna Joe, bebeh!! plus, i made some friends ;)
For those who didn't know her, go google. hehe. i like her selfpotrait shots so much and it was an honour to met her eye to eye. and to have her co-teaching in the workshop. fuhh!

here some gambar curi from Itudio Studio blog. hehe

tho there were some things happened that kinda made me down during my birthday, i did enjoy the time i spent with the people i love.

thank you, lovely people. xxx

and good luck to my adiks here in USM who are going to take the final exam starting next Monday. All the best!!
