Space Mission to the Planetarium Negara Kuala Lumpur

The last time I visited Planetarium Negara (National Planetarium), Kuala Lumpur was back in 2010 when I brought my niece and nephews. After 9 years, finally I'm back, with my two busy bees!

There's not much change in the Kuala Lumpur Planetarium beside the new (not sure how new) Space Pod. I remember I played a virtual football at the main space there.

Planetarium Negara Kuala Lumpur is located at Jalan Perdana, near the other Kuala Lumpur attractions like Masjid Negara, Lake Garden, KL Bird Park and Muzium Negara.

Fasting Skin Re-water Vital Therapy at Roszen Beauty, MyTown KL

Most knows that I am not the kind of woman who really cares about skin care. Plus, being a mother, I always find it hard to spend extra time going through the skincare products. I wonder how some able to sit in front of their mirror and do so. I would hear my kids screaming Mummmyyyy Mummmyyyy non-stop. But yes, once in a while, I do realize that I have been neglecting my skin and it looks so bad for my age. So I decided to give my skin a treatment it deserves.

When I was in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate Bilal's birthday recently, I visited a spa in MyTown Kuala Lumpur, Cheras, the Roszen Beauty.

Roszen Beauty is a one-stop concept beauty salon that strives to enhance people's confidence by providing comprehensive skin care solutions. Roszen offers a wide range of professional treatments. Roszen Beauty Spa is very relaxing and comfortable.

Birthday Party with KFC Chicky & Friends at AEON Big Ampang

We actually didn't plan big for Bilal's second birthday party. All we had in mind was to buy a cake and some food and hang out with family at home. But my mom got another idea and she wanted to throw her grandson a birthday party at any fast food restaurant instead. After giving some thoughts and had some discussions, we said okay to Nenek. So we had Bilal's 2nd birthday party at KFC Aeon Big Ampang the day after his actual birthday (because of the availability of the slot).

We choose KFC as our party place as it is obviously everyone's favorite fast food restaurant. KFC Aeon Big Ampang is the nearest KFC store from our place which have the birthday party service. Plus point that the party area is spacious and is separated from the main KFC dining area.

DIY Kids Art & Craft at Craftomon's, MyTown Kuala Lumpur

Craftomon's by Open Playschool is a children activity store in MyTown shopping mall, Kuala Lumpur. The Craftomon's store is located at Level 1, in front of the escalator near link bridge to IKEA.

We stumbled upon this store while we were there and Balqis requested to do some painting. There are a lot of art and craft activities to do there.  Some of the DIY arts and craft things that you may purchase to bring home, or do it there at the store are key-chain, fridge magnet, coin banks, photo frames and many more.

Of course we like this store. Even though both of us are from science background, we always encourage Balqis to do arts & crafts. And she herself likes to do all those painting, cutting, doodling.

Visit to Pusat Sains Negara, Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

Last Sunday, we went to Pusat Sains Negara or the National Science Centre, which is located at Bukit Kiara. The entrance fee for the centre is quite affordable, i.e RM 6 for adults, RM 3 for children (7 - 12 years old and senior citizen) and free for kids below 6 years old.

Going into the indoor galleries, you'll first walk under the Freshwater Fish Aquarium. The aquarium is the main entrance to the indoor galleries.

Visit to KL Tower Mini Zoo

The KL Tower Mini Zoo is located just before the entrance to the KL Tower. The concept is similar to Farm in The City in Seri Kembangan. I think it is managed by the same company/group. Some of the animals in the zoo are birds, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, rabbits, monkeys, foxes, raccoons, tortoises and alpacas.

Balqis loved the alpaca so much that she keeps on telling us about how she touched the alpaca till today.

Dugaan di bulan Ramadhan

Semalam pagi-pagi masuk ofis terus siap2 kene pegi Kuala Pilah, ada pegawai KPT nak visit Clinical School sana so bos suruh ikut dia pegi. Agak teruja sebab dah lama tak pergi Kuala Pilah, sejak meninggalkan KMNS dalam 2004. Semua org duk cakap dah tak lalu Bukit Putus, so dah tak pening-pening.

Cuma bila tulis Bahasa Malaysia, jadi macam ni lah. Agak kaku. Dan kalau guna Bahasa Malaysia yang terlalu pasar, nanti rasa tak hormat bahasa kebangsaan pun timbul. Mungkin kalau sikit-sikit okay lah lagi, kan. Nak bahasakan diri saya ke, aku ke, pun jadi masalah. I have to admit, it is much easier when writing in English. I can use the word 'I' and won't feel weird at all.

Bad experience with Sajian Enak, Kenanga Wholesale City

I don't normally blog about any shop that I went and had bad experience with. But I really really want to blog about this particular restaurant that I had a very very bad service I've ever received.

Went to Kenanga Wholesale City with mum, cousin, aunty and niece last Saturday. Was very hungry and looked for a place to eat. We saw this one Malay restaurant, Sajian Enak, located at floor 3A. They had promotions such as Nasi Minyak dengan Dalca Daging and Nasi Kerabu. Mum felt like eating Nasi kerabu so we decided to have our lunch there.

And let me tell you our experience there.

Yunalis Zarai gave me goosebumps!

I am not a good reviewer. I don't write well-written review on anything - music, theater, movie, book, travel places. I know I didn't even write nice review on Nokia N8 for the Maxis10 programme. But anyhow, I still want to write something about the show I went to last Tuesday. It was the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas Spotlight - Yuna show.

When B first asked me to join her watching Yuna, I wasn't really excited about it. Guess I'm more to a theater person than a concert person, except Hindi concerts cause they are more like musicals. :P But I said yes anyway and bought us the tickets. Her original show was planned only for 12 September but tickets were sold out fast and they decided to make an additional show on 13 September, and we got our tickets for the second day.

I finally met them at the #4sqdayKL

Yes. As a mayor of several places *ehem* (mostly in Penang tho) in Foursquare, I went to the Foursquare Day (4sqdayKL) last Friday (16/4/2010) at Starbucks Uptown. Thanks to girlfriend, Baiti and Ruban for the company :D

4sqdayA badge u don’t get often!! lalalala~

So at the 4sqdayKL, I finally met some of the Twitter pal in the Twitterland in person. Have nothing much to tell about the day. But, hey, come meet my virtual friends ;)

The Postcard Crossing Project

Postcards Exchange

Do you like to swap postcards from all over the world?
How do you feel to received mails from random country and random sender?
It’s been 83 days till today since i registered with the PostCrossing.com which i knew from random googling. I’ve sent 13 postcards and received 14 postcards, till date, to all around the world. So, what is PostCrossing?
The Project
“The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive at least one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.
Why? Because, like the author, there are lots of people who like to receive real mail.
The element of surprise of receiving postcards from different places in the world (many of which you probably have never heard of) can turn your mailbox into a box of surprises - and who wouldn't like that?”

Rumah Titian Kasih, Titiwangsa

If u ever came across my entry about PBSM Malaysia located in Jalan Nipah, off Jalan Ampang, KL, you’ll remember about the unused item (mostly clothes) yang kami sekeluarga hantar as a donation so that they can sell and use the money for their PBSM activity.

So few months back, i did a closet clearance and have some clothes that I don’t use anymore and wanted to send it off to PBSM. Then call cousins & aunts tanya kalau2 ada jugak barang nak hantar sana, boleh kumpul2 hantar sekali. tetiba bila dah kumpul macam banyak pulak. then mum said, this time x payah hantar kat PBSM la. she read about an orphanage home, Rumah Titian Kasih (RTK), near Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. So she gave me the address and I went there with my aunt & cousin. Masa tu, pergi, hantar clothes and some dry foods, then balik. Nothing much.

SDC10122

Lebih kurang seminggu yang lepas, sepupu ada buat kenduri tahlil hari ke 40 untuk pakcik kat rumah atuk (the same house i live in). Masa kenduri tu, kami ada buat bungkusan2 makanan2 kering (kueh mueh, buah, jelly etc) untuk bagi pada tetamu2. So, sepupu tu buat la lebih sebab nak sedekah kat rumah anak yatim sikit.

Sampai-sampai kami carik Mak Pah, pengurus rumah tu. Mak Pah kata x ramai orang hari tu sebab ada orang bawak diorang pergi kenduri kahwin. Ok, x kisah lah tu.

Mak Pah tanya kami pernah pergi tak rumah lagi satu, rumah yang menempatkan anak2 perempuan. Ohhh.. rupanya baru kami tahu rumah yang ni ialah rumah lelaki, tapi sebab pejabat kat sini so Mak Pah selalu kat sini. Rumah lagi satu rumah perempuan.

Sampai kat rumah perempuan, tengok x ramai orang.

Bila nampak die macam susah nak bukak tu, kitorang datang kat dia nak tolong dia..

DSC05817nama panggilan dia kak cik. ayah kak cik baru je meninggal. ibu kak cik xtau la pulak mane.

DSC05819see that’s my niece, Nurin in yellow shirt. she’s 4+ years old. kak cik is much smaller than Nurin, kan. But she’s actually 5. Mak Pah kata dia sangat x cukup makan, x cukup zat before masuk RTK ni.

Then, there’s a girl named Nana. 24 years old. I can’t remember ape nama penyakit dia Mak Pah ada bagitau. But she talks reaaalllyy slow. bukan gagap. she kept on asking “mana ibu nana…?” “kenapa ibu x datang..?” she called cousin Kak Lina, aunt and my mum “Ibu…Ibu….”.. and she kept on repeating “Mak Pah baik… jaga kami….mak Pah baik sangat….”  Mak Pah cakap diorang pun x tau kat mana ibu Nana sebenarnya..

This is Haziq and his sister Farah. both parents are alive. but sadly dua-dua bermasalah, and pity this beautiful kids, kat sini tempat mereka akan membesar.. i wonder where are the other family member..grandparents? aunties? uncles? :(

bercerita pasal pergi Rumah Titian Kasih ni bukan dengan tujuan nak berlagak. kami pun bukan orang senang sangat pun. tapi kami teringin nak tolong setakat mana yang mampu. InsyaAllah, Allah tahu niat kami ikhlas.
and i hope and pray, kalau la ada yang lebih mampu, bantu-bantu lah mereka ni jugak. RTK bukan di bawah biayaan Jabatan Kerajaan Masyarakat ataupun Baitimal. They stand on their own feet. and they need help.

GEMS big bang carnival

10.11.09

last week i was at home, again! it was totally unplanned. days before my cousin Along a.k.a Nida called and asked if i wanna join her to open a booth for the GEMS Big Bang Carnival. Both of us own a blogshop. i knew about the carnival through the lovely Hanis Zalikha's and her sister Liana Ezzana's blogs.
So due to no-plan-for-the-weekend plus the i-might-be-boring-lepaking-at-room-on-the-weekend, i told Along that i would be back and join her. I might as well do the clearance stock sale for my blogshop items.

So the GEMS Big Bang Carnival was held at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa from 9am to 6pm. It was held by the GEMS participant, Liana Ezzana was one of the organizer. She was so gracious to work with.

me, at our booth

What else were there at the Big Bang Carnival???

Vespa show

Aiskrim Malaysia by Monster Jambu

Special appearance by Maya Karin

besides booths there were also
 bands
muslimah fashion show
paintball
telematch
blood donation
etc etc etc

I soooo wanna thanks mum for dropping by Taman Tasik Titiwangsa later that evening after went for a wedding in Keramat. She came with cousin Diba, Effa and my aunty to show us support :)

and my girlfriend Baiti came after went for a wedding also. haishh why la so many wedding~

and while lepaking at our booth, chit chatting, suddenly Liana came with a lovely lady and said.. "Hi, ni adik saya. kenal kan?" Bloggers must've known this lovely lady sekali pandang je.
Fewiiitttt Hanis Zalikha was there wehhh. depan mata. she's sooooo beautiful in person. she's look exactly like she is in the pictures. Kalau letak ShahRukh Khan depan mata pon i x pandang kot. :p
She was there to support her sister, her mother Nani Rostam who open a booth selling cookies & cakes for hantaran and her little siblings, the Monster Jambu owners.

sila jeles ye kawan kawan ;p

at around 545pm we were ready to pack as the carnival would end at 6pm. then i saw Hanis came to our booth, again! She looked at the second hand novels i was letting go (due to x cukup tempat nak place my new books. oh, no i didn't let go any of Sheldon's) and she bought two of them!!! My novels are now Hanis'. :D :D

Some of the second hand novels

And dengan hati yang riang ria sebab jumpa si manis Hanis Zalikha (baru jumpa Hanis, kalau la yang dtg tu Adam ke Zahiril Adzim ker..mesti sampai pengsan kot :p) kami pun pulang ke rumah.

It was indeed a great day. I gained experience selling my items at an open booth, at an open carnival like this. Thanks Along for asking me to join.

Souvenir from the organizer

Bile tengah bosannnnnnn

Oh, btw....there was a scene..

"a'aa.. school Bahan kan?"
"errr..yup. kita sama batch ker?"
"sama. school EE. sama dengan Nine semua"
"ohhh..ok. Sory x cam..."
