October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Every year in the month of October, the world is campaigning on increasing the awareness of breast cancer among the women. The Breast Cancer Awareness Month or well-known as the Pink Ribbon campaign is an annual international health campaign that offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.






Breast cancer comprises 10.4% of all cancer incidence among women, making it the most common type of non-skin cancer in women and the fifth most common cause of cancer death (wikipedia). All the symptoms, diagnosis, treatments, side effects and other information on breast cancer is just a click away. Google it today and make yourself alert and aware of this silent killer.


This year, 2010, the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month ( http://www.nbcam.org/ ) which started the official campaign on October 1985 is celebrating its “25 years of Awareness, Education and Empowerment.” Jyeahh. the NBCAM and I were born in the same month on the same year! :p
