Local Western Food @ Terlioq Pasta Sandwiches, Tanjung Tokong, Penang
Terlioq Pasta Sandwich is located at Kompleks Desiran Tanjung, Tanjung Tokong, just a few stalls away from Nazeerra's Kacang Pool Penang. Well, as other stalls there, the Terlioq Pasta Sandwiches stall is also small and if you see, you might find it biasa-biasa je. And you may also just pass by without wanting to give it a try. But wait till you see the menu, they serve bukan biasa-biasa okay.
Terlioq Pasta Sandwich serves variety of pasta and sandwich, of cos. Owned and cooked by a Muslim, so, halal pasta oh yeah!
Actually, a family member recommended us to try this stall and she said it's their family's favourite whevever in town.

The Table Penang, Lebuh Carnavon, Georgetown
I've been stalking The Table Penang Facebook and Instagram for quite some times and been asking husband to bring me there. But since it is located at Lebuh Carnavon, which is really in the middle of the town with very limited car park area, and only open at night, we have never had a chance to pay a visit.
The Table Penang which is located at 27, Lebuh Carnavon, is a small cafe just before the junction. Is is in a walking distance from Masjid Kapitan Keling. The cafe is one of the few halal cafes serving western food and coffee in Georgetown.
So anyway, a few months back, we finally got to go to The Table Penang yayy! And yes, we have to make few rounds to find a place to park the car and finally got to park near the diner, after I almost give up and tell husband to just go home if we could not find a car park lol.

Penang Digital Library Phase 1 and Phase 2, Georgetown
Penang Digital Library is located at No. 135 Jalan Masjid Negeri, George Town, Penang, on the grounds of Penang Free School. The Penang Digital Library is a project supported by the Penang State Government. It was made possible through the collaboration from various companies including Keysight Technologies, Eastern & Oriental Group (E&O) and TIME dotCom.
The Phase 1 building was lauched back in October 2016. Penang Digital Library Phase 1 opens 24 hours daily.
However, it could hardly accommodate 80 people and was always crowded. That was why former chief minister Lim Guan Eng came up with the idea for Phase 2, which has seating for more than 500 people.

Really tall and long shelf at BookXcess in Gurney Paragon, Penang
So, have you heard about the newly opened book store with a really tall and long shelf?
It's the well know parent of the great Big Bad Wolf book sales, the BookXcess Bookstore now opened in Gurney Paragon mall, Penang!
Located at Level 7 and 8 of Gurney Paragon Mall, this is their 8th outlet and the first store out of the central region! The book store covers over 26 000 sq ft with countless numbers of shelves.
It's the well know parent of the great Big Bad Wolf book sales, the BookXcess Bookstore now opened in Gurney Paragon mall, Penang!
It is also an insta-worthy bookstore, trust me. Too bad I was too occupied with the kids that I did not get the chance to get myself captured for insta purpose lol.

City Walk 2019 In conjunction with City Day
We woke up early on New Year morning to join the other Penangites for the City Walk 2019. City Walk is an annual event organized by Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang in conjunction with City Day. This City Walk is me and husband's third time (after 2014 and 2017), Balqis' second time and of course the first one for Bilal.
What I like about the City Walk is that not like other walk where you just walk for few kilometres to get the medal. One of this walk objective is to let you know more about Penang generally.
Each participants will be given a passport with five Penang attractions or historical places, and you will get a sticker (previous ones were stamped) when you reach the places.

Nokia N8 – Capturing Penang with the 12MP camera
Nokia N8 offers its 12 megapixels (mp) camera with Carl Zeiss optic, maximum aperture f/2.8 with xenon flash. The flash range is 3-3.5m for normal condition. The camera has the wide-angle capabilities of a 28mm lens which would be very convenience than the typical 35mm. The 1/1.83” sensor used in the N8 uses 1.75 micron pixels which, with its 12-megapixel resolving capability, results in a sensor larger than most compact digital cameras. The ISO range is ISO100 (default), ISO400 and ISO800.
In a video of Dr. Hubert Nasse of Carl Zeiss talking about the N8 camera module during Photokina 2010 in Cologne, he stated that the Carl Zeiss lens inside the N8 are made out of 5 single optical elements with complex shapes never seen before in large scale optics. This results in excellent image quality.
The camera function of the Nokia N8 included of some setting options like Scene mode, Self-timer, Colour tone, White Balance, Light Sensitivity (ISO) and the Face detection, which are mostly available in compact digital camera.
So, below are some untouched pictures taken with the Nokia N8. The 12mp size photos are in 4:3 ratio while the 9mp photos are in 16:9 ratio.

So, sepanjang perjalanan mereka dari Rawang x tau la apa keadaan dalam train, tapi menurut kata Ayong, Aman sangat tak reti diam :P Pegi ambil diorg dalam pukul 7.20pg lepas tu naik feri ke Pulau Pinang.
Macam2 hal budak2 ni. Aman agak excited naik feri, ok! lepas tu dia cakap org lain plak yang excited. Haha. Sampai pulau, hantar Aman kat Sunway Hotel untuk event StartUp Penang dia, and kitorg pun beredar.
Memula pergi Gurney Drive lepak Khaleel untuk breakfast. Lepas tu, tak tahu nak pegi mana sbb awal lagi. Oleh kerana Een ada report lab nak kena siapkan, kitorg pun pergi la lepas McDonalds kat Gurney siapkan kerja Een. Dekat 4jam jugak oohh!

Another well spent weekend in Penang
Yes, after a long time, I had my weekend well spent in Penang Island again. When i say ‘well spent’, it means more than just go to Penang for a movie and Starbuck-ing in Queensbay Mall or Gurney Plaza, ok.
Woke up not so early so i missed the chance to go to Taman Tun Sardon for ‘serabai’ breakfast. Yeah, I’ve been hooked up to ‘serabai’ since the first time I tried it during twin cousins, Ekha & Kaina and grandma were here.
So, went to the Rope Walk @ Lorong Kulit but nothing really attract my attention. Looking for Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck from the uncle that i bought Salina from, but he doesn’t have it. Oh but we saw IPhone instead. But didn’t ask how much would he sell. Then, had lunch at Astaka Selera Stadium, next to the Penang Stadium and near the Lorong Kulit.
Then we headed to Upper Penang Road for the Little Penang Street Market. Last weekend was the 4th anniversary of the voluntary street market, which opens every last Sunday of the month.
Street opera performance by a Japanese soprano, Ranko Kurano. Check my Qik for her video.
After that, we went all over Penang (ok, not really. i was exaggerating :P ) to find cempedak goreng. Yes, I wanted cempedak goreng that bad since like weeks ago and I couldn’t find any in Parit Buntar and Nibong Tebal area. :/
We went round and round to some places in Penang and kept looking, till we found a small stall in a housing area in Jelutung selling the cempedak goreng. Wooott!! Marvellous! Then went to another place - which I am not sure what’s the name of the place, a new place by the sea - hang out there to have the wonderfully taste cempedak goreng. XD
Then, after we finished with the cempedak goreng, guess where we headed to?
My tour guide of the day ( yes, i retired of being the tour guide for the weekend ;p ) brought me to a place named Relau. Why did we go to Relau…? Well, in Relau, there’s a place selling fruits on the roadside.
The one thing that i like about this place is you can buy the fruits and dine-in there. The place is really nice and clean.
And this is what we came here for………
Now, what do we do after eating the durian? The old folks say, to prevent our body from the heat of eating durian, we should drink the water from the ‘pasung’ durian. And that’s exactly what I did. :P
After finished the fruit fiesta, we went hanging out in front of Queensbay area, watching the kite-flying here are there. Honestly, I’ve never ever succeed in flying a kite. But that was during the childhood. Never tried to fly a kite after i turned 17. Should really try it again some times – till I can finally make the kite flies.
No. This is not a bird, or a Batman! This is a kite.
The Penang Bridge. Also, since 1985! ;)
Well hey, anybody misses this? Err… i mean the satay ikan, not the brother. :P
I really need a new lens. At least a new kit lens. Shooting with the manual focus sucks to the max! Gggrrrr!!
p/s: Thank you, tour guide of the day, for the cempedak goreng & durian!! You know you’re the best!!! :D

Jalan jalan lagi Yayyyyy!!!
24.11.09
Yayyy finally can update the blog with something after a few attempts to update but totally out of idea. Went out with my not-so-little brothers Sally, Hadi & Nik on Friday but there is not even a single pict taken. Went to queensbay and had Kenny Rogers, had satay ikan (like the one kita makan time2 balik skola dulu tu), went to Feringhi Night Market and layan budak2 tu nak naik trishaw sebab x penah naik, then had Sup Hameed and McDonald’s for desert. All in all what we did was eat and eat and eat. :D
And on Sunday i went out to Penang for some jalan-jalan activities. Went out early in the morning so I could start my day with the marvellous McDonald’s hotcake with sausage for breakfast. Yummy!!
Then went straight away to Penang and headed to the Lorong Kulit flea market. Oh btw, the bridge was opened at 10 a.m after the Penang Bridge marathon which started at 3.30am earlier that day.
I like going to the Lorong Kulit flea market as to see a lot of antique stuffs there. You can find almost everything there – old records, used books, shoes, clothes, bags, electrical stuffs, fruits etc.
Next spot – Penang Aquarium formerly known as the Fisheries Department Research Institute, Batu Maung. So unfortunately for me, the aquarium was closed for renovation :( but we can still see some fishes and turtles and starfish at the open pond area & the auditorium.
beautiful isn’t it?
And there are turtlesss!!!! The baby turtles are separated in the different pond from the bigger size ones. OMG they are so cute i feel like taking them out and kidnap and replace the blue tortoise in the car with them !!!!! hahaha
The bigger size
yes i’m feeding the turtle with kangkung! it has sharp teeth ok. and FYI turtles bite! just like edward. lalala~
This turtle’s leg was amputed, but dont know why. That’s why it doesn’t swim around like the others and doesn’t even want to eat :(
Inside the open auditorium. u may think these fishes are small. but they are actually huuugggeeeee!
And then i went to the Wat Chayamangkalaram, Lorong Burma. It is a Siamese temple which was officially given its site by Queen Victoria in 1845. It was presented by Mr. W.L. Butterworth of the East India Company of Penang on July 22, 1845.
And why would I want to come here?
To see the 180-foot gold-plated statue of the reclining Buddha, the Pra Buddhachaiya Mongkul. The reclining Buddha represents Pra Buddhachaiya Mongkul, the historical Buddha, at his death. This symbolizes complete peace and detachment from the world. The Pra Buddhachauya Mongkul is one of the largest reclining Buddha in the world.
I soooo do need a wide angle lens to capture this,ok! Anyone want to buy for me? ;p
I like the ceiling so much it’s pretty and the colour is nice
the wall
A friend asked me why did i go inside a temple. Is it ok? Is it against the Islamic law? Well I am not good in Islamic law nor I can tell you what is right and wrong. All I can say is it depends on each individual. It’s not that I was going to pray or what.
Plus, didn’t Saidina Umar paid a visit to the Holy Sepulcher Church, the most important Christian monument of Jerusalem?
And didn’t Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi pray in a church after they won the Crusade war?
Then again, it’s totally up to you, yourself.
Ok, itu selingan je ok. ;)
Lets proceed.
I would name my Sunday as a McDonalds day. Because I had McDonalds again for late lunch!! weeeeeee!!!!!! The Prosperity Burger ya’ll!!! Urgghh tempting tempting! Damn I’m starving now. Haha
And then, to Pesta Penang!
Pesta Penang 2009 started on the 21st November until 31st December. But I think it was not as crowded as years before. Maybe because of the raining season?
So that is how my Sunday went. I’m so gonna find other places in Penang that I should go.
Oh I know. here go the list:
- Tropical Fruit Farm, Teluk Bahang
- Peranakan Museum
- Penang Aquarium (revisitn - sape suruh dia nak renovate2)
- Kerachut Beach (turtle! turtle! turtle!)
(might as well be a long list after Googling ;p)
Hahaha suka suka je nak jalan tapi nak masuk lab sangat malas nak tulis paper sgt malas juga :p
New Moon is coming out in 2 days time!! I can’t wait it makes me crazy! Come to me, Edward. hahaha
