Visit to Pusat Sains Negara, Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

Last Sunday, we went to Pusat Sains Negara or the National Science Centre, which is located at Bukit Kiara. The entrance fee for the centre is quite affordable, i.e RM 6 for adults, RM 3 for children (7 - 12 years old and senior citizen) and free for kids below 6 years old.

Going into the indoor galleries, you'll first walk under the Freshwater Fish Aquarium. The aquarium is the main entrance to the indoor galleries.

Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu Terengganu

Mummy memang dah lama sangat teringin nak pergi Taman Monumen Taman Tamadun Islam ni sejak dibuka tapi tak berkesempatan nak jejak ke Kuala Terengganu. So, Mummy memang agak excited.

Jalan-jalan Terengganu Part 3

So, hari terakhir dalam program Jalan-Jalan Terengganu empat beranak diteruskan di hari terakhir. Sekejap sangat rasa berjalan memandangkan hari 2 cuma dapat melawat 2 tempat je. Sobsss.

Yang paling tip top - of cos Nasi Dagang. Sebab memang puas hati dengan Nasi Dagang nya, tak terasa nak cari di luar sana. Nasib baik second day still ada menu yang sama. Selain tu, ada toast, salad bar, mee goreng, nasi lemak, cereals, omelette panas-panas (mine is cheese omelette of cos!), bubur dan macam-macam lagi.

Jalan-jalan Terengganu Part 2

Pagi hari kedua tu, bangun awal dgn hajat nak tengok sunrise kononnya. Tapi sebab anak-anak tidur, maka terfikir lah Mummy, macam mana nak pegi tengok sunrise nya. Kesian tengok budak-budak ni tidur tak sampai hati nak bangunkan. So, batalkan je la niat di hati tu.

So anyway, lepas breakfast kami keluar menuju ke Taman Tamadun Islam yang terletak di Pulau Wan Man. Sampai sana nak beli tiket, baru decide nak ambil pakej River Cruise dan Taman Tamadun Islam. Agak rugi masa kat situ sebab tunggu next trip untuk River Cruise dekat setengah jam juga.

Jalan jalan Terengganu Part 1

Kiranya, percutian ni officially percutian pertama Bilal dan first trip for us as a family of 4.

Visit to KL Tower Mini Zoo

The KL Tower Mini Zoo is located just before the entrance to the KL Tower. The concept is similar to Farm in The City in Seri Kembangan. I think it is managed by the same company/group. Some of the animals in the zoo are birds, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, rabbits, monkeys, foxes, raccoons, tortoises and alpacas.

Balqis loved the alpaca so much that she keeps on telling us about how she touched the alpaca till today.

Jalan Jalan Langkawi Part III

We had a quite early flight back to Penang on the third day. Flight was at noon hence there wasn't much time to go for more jalan-jalan.

Early morning after breakfast we went out to Kuah town for last minute shopping. Then we headed to the must-take-photo place in Langkawi - the Dataran Lang (The Eagle Square).

Jalan Jalan Langkawi Part II

(Prev post - Jalan-jalan Langkawi Part I)

We woke up early on the second day as we knew we'd take time to get Balqis ready and to prepare for her thing milk food. We tried our best to give her home-prepared food for as long as we could. Hence we brought frozen food from home and thank to the invention of ice pack, the food stayed frozen until we reached Langkawi.

We got out of the hotel for breakfast at the nearby food stall. It was drizzling so we decided to go for indoor places/activity first and went straight to the Underwater World, Langkawi. This was my third, (or fourth time?) time going to the Underwater World but somehow it still amazes me. I wish I could be a mermaid and live underwater. Or at least I know how to dive. But trust me I don't even know how to swim! -___-"

Jalan jalan Langkawi Part I

I won't count Melaka as our first family trip because Balqis slept most of the time when we jalan-jalan there and Cameron Highland was just a stopped-by.  So Langkawi will be the official first jalan-jalan for Balqis. Hehe.

We booked the flight and hotel at the very last minutes, just about a week before we went there. We planned to go to Langkawi for quite some times but there were always other important things that we need to attend first. We actually had few places to choose i.e Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Terengganu - but there are no direct flights from Penang, hence we opted for Langkawi. Besides PEN to LGK is just a 30 minutes flight - just enough for us to see if we are able to handle Balqis on flight. And if not, well, it would be just 30 minutes huhu. Honestly I did a lot of reading on tips of how to handle infant onboard lol.

The backpacking family (kononnya). Hehe.

A weekend getaway

Last two weeks, we went to Melaka for husband's friend's wedding. It was unofficially Balqis' first makan angin with us as well. We started the road trip at around 5.30 o'clock in the morning. Yeahhh we woke up verrryyy early *yawn*. Balqis was being extra good, woke at 4am as well, and as if she knew she was going out that early, did not fall asleep back as always (her official wake up time is 7.30 am every day). We made a few stops and gather with other friends on our way to Melaka. We arrived in Melaka just about noon and went straight away to the wedding reception hall. Spent some quite a lot of time there (felt like attending a reunion instead) before we leave for Klebang Coconut Shake for a post-reunion hang out.

Congratulations Haidi & Suhana
And what are you looking at Balqis?

Hiking up Bukit To'kun (Bukit Mertajam)

Husband and I had been planning to climb (more to jungle trekking, actually) to Pantai Kerachut at Penang National Park for quite some times. So as we decided to go last Sunday, husband made me go for a walk/jog every morning to warm ourselves myself up for the activity since last two weeks, since I have not been exercising for a long time. And my last hiking trip was to Broga Hill, Semenyih - that was in February 2011! Well yeah, good luck for me!

However, we found out that it was raining in Penang on that Saturday evening. I told husband that it was not a good idea to go hiking after the rain. It would be very slippery and all. But since we’ve already made up our mind to go hiking, I Google-d to find any hiking places in Seberang Perai instead and I found out about Bukit Mertajam @ Bukit To’kun. That place is really near to our home and we didn’t even know there’s a hill to climb! So we decided to go there the next day.

Bukit To’kun, or some people call it Bukit Mertajam, is located at Cherok To’kun in Bukit Mertajam. It is part of the Bukit Mertajam Recreational Park where locals bring the children for a picnic and swim by the creek. Bukit To’kun has two paths for hiking – the jungle track and the tar road track. Since it was drizzling before dawn at the area, we had to choose the tar track to avoid the slippery path, again.

My first postcard by Pic Collage

As some of you might know, I love collecting postcards. I always send postcards to myself from places I've been to, and ask friends and families to send me one too when they're travelling. Besides, I join Postcrossing because I think it's a great idea to have us sending and receiving postcards from random people from all over the world.

Umrah 1434H

Alhamdulillah .. Allah granted us the opportunity to fly thousands of miles to become guests of His home, Baitullah, once again. The happiness and joy that can't be described. The pounding and nervous feelings still arise, more over when it was nearer to the departure date. I went to the Umrah trip with the two most important person in my life - my mother and my husband - and with my aunt and her family.

We departed to Jeddah by Saudi Air on Saturday 16 February 2013. We spent three nights in Madinah before we go to Makkah.

Masjid Quba'
The first and oldest mosque in the world - built by prophet Muhammad s.a.w

One of the hadith on Masjid Quba':
"Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said: Whoever makes ablutions at home and then goes and prays in the Mosque of Quba, he will have a reward like that of an 'Umrah."
(Hadith is reported by Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Al-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah and Hakim al-Nishaburi.)

Cuti cuti Medan - Part 2

Woke up very early in the morning. The day started earlier than in Kuala Lumpur. It was such a nice and calm feeling to woke up and went to the window and looked at the sun rise. Breakfast served at 0700 and as told, the tour guide came to pick us up at 0730. We check out from the hotel as we were going to stay in Berastagi on the second night. Picked up the family of four (from Melaka) at another hotel and went to a jetty where we took a boat to Samosir Island.

Cuti cuti Medan - Part I

It was kinda a sudden decision to go on a trip to Medan. Mytarget for travelling this year was actually achieved with the Kota Kinabalutrip with Mum (day 1 and day 2) and the second Singapore visit with the family (which I realise Ihaven’t post anything on it, yet! USS babyyy!! Will do soon!!). Penang tripsdon’t count as travel, ok. :P

I was thinking about Bandung, Jakarta and Medan. Thoughpeople keep telling me how nice shopping in Bandung would be, I remembered howI used to love looking at Lake Toba’s picture and how I wished I would see thescenery with my own eyes. So I decided to ask mum on a trip to Medan and LakeToba. I extended the invitation to my aunt, uncle & cousins too. And theywe were last week – on our trip to Medan.

Blogger and Twitteratis trip to Malacca for #knizamkawen

The plan to Malacca had been done since last month when the famous live blogger, @knizam94 send out his invitation card to us - the blogger and twitteratis through @azmanishak. We were so excited for the trip since most of us are going, and it would be our very first official road trip together. So, there we were on 19th February 2011, off to Malacca the Historic State. They who gathered at Ali Maju, Setiawangsa earlier that morning came pick me up at home, since I've decided last minute not to drive for the convoy. The journey started from Kuala Lumpur after the we went to Cheras to pick @piratz up.

Oh, before the journey started... we did what we do best... camwhoring!! :P

#iheartborneo My Kota Kinabalu Trip - Day 1

Remember the return ticket to Kota Kinabalu that I won from IHeartBorneo, sponsored by FireFly? Well, I claimed it and went to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah with Mum last weekend. I don’t plan to write down the details of each places I went to, cos i’ll do it later in my Travel Blog. But here is how my trip went.

So the trip started as early as 5am, me and mum went to KLIA to go on board on a 655am flight to Kota Kinabalu. Flight took off at around 700am.

Lawatan sambil tweet ke Zoo Negara

Planned a trip to Zoo Negara last weekend with some Twitter friends who are now my real life friends. Some of us went to a #kltour trip to Muzium Negara, Planetarium Negara, Tugu Negara and Central Market (which was more to a hangout session for us but a first time visit for Eny ;p) last month.

The previous member of the trip  (Me, Aman, Eny, Ayong, Kay and Mun), together with some new members, Een, Kerel and Zelo  went to the Zoo Negara last Sunday.

According to the plan, we were supposed to meet at the Zoo by 10 am, which on the day, I was still at home waiting for somebody to pick me up. Yeah. So janji Melayu, kan? -__-"
