Bad experience with Sajian Enak, Kenanga Wholesale City
Went to Kenanga Wholesale City with mum, cousin, aunty and niece last Saturday. Was very hungry and looked for a place to eat. We saw this one Malay restaurant, Sajian Enak, located at floor 3A. They had promotions such as Nasi Minyak dengan Dalca Daging and Nasi Kerabu. Mum felt like eating Nasi kerabu so we decided to have our lunch there.
And let me tell you our experience there.

Ok first of all, if any of you have known this for quite a while, please don't brag at me. Saya tahu saya selalu agak ketinggalan zaman dalam hal sebegini -___-"
So anyways....

Let’s make it 5 a day
I actually wanna talk on a healthy diet that we all should practice. I didn’t notice that the 5-a-day is actually known worldwide, until the Nutrition team of IMU organizes the Nutrition Week with the slogan of “5 colours a day”.
We all know that we need vegetable and fruit every day in our balance and healthy diet. But we don’t really give attention on how much of a fruit and vegetable portion should we take. So, as a way to practice healthy diet, I forced myself to take the 5-a-day challenge.

Mini family gathering
Anyway, last few weeks, my maternal family members had a little gathering, thanks to cousin Sis Alice who initiated the idea of the gathering. It had been a while since we had our last gathering like this. And when I say gathering, I mean the 'bakar-bakar' gathering! Yes, 'bakar-bakar' refers to BBQ style gathering. And we went by theme like always. This time it was BLACK!

Surprise visit to Manjung for Kak Farhah’s Birthday
Last Sunday, me with some friends went to Manjung, Perak to celebrate my dear Kak farhah’s birthday. I really want to surprise her as she, with my whole bunch of kakaks & abangs, did a surprise birthday celebration for me on my birthday last year. Plus, it has been a while since we met after she left USM and started working in Ipoh. So I planned the surprise visit with her husband, Ikmal.
We reached Manjung at around 3 o’clock and went straightaway to the Secret Recipe, as planned. But, Ikmal who supposed to bring Kakak at 3 pm arrived at 330 om with the birthday girl and her sister, Madihah. (Ikmal, memang nak kene nih!)
Jejak kasih Kak Ida & Madihah. Macam bertahun tak jumpa –_-“
So anyways, no, we didn’t celebrate with all the balloons and birthday decorations. Just a simple lunch and hang-out session – changing stories, updating gossips – like we always do.
Kakak waiting for us to sing her the birthday song.
She’s happy with the song ( which the Secret Recipe put on the speaker, not sing by us ).
My super-delicious chicken cordon bleu :D
Kak ida & Madihah learning to be a good mum :P
Then we went to Kak Farhah’s house for a while, to see Mama & do our prayers.
Baby Aryan with his (self-proclaimed) god-mother ;p
We headed back at around 6+ pm, but we didn’t just go back. Hehe. We stopped by Taiping for a dinner at the famous Doli Kuey Teow Goreng. Finally!!! XD
( Dear B, I promise next time we go to Doli TTDI together-gether k. You jgn la merajuk2 mengadu kat kawan I lagi tau. :P )
Then, we go back to campus, with happy mood happy hearts and happy stomach XD.
Thank you for the roadtrip crew for making this possible, and to Ikmal for helping me in planning the surprise trip.
p/s: I intentionally didn’t put up much of others’ photo, so that Kakak will be happy that this post is dedicated to her, with most of the photos are hers. :’)

Another well spent weekend in Penang
Yes, after a long time, I had my weekend well spent in Penang Island again. When i say ‘well spent’, it means more than just go to Penang for a movie and Starbuck-ing in Queensbay Mall or Gurney Plaza, ok.
Woke up not so early so i missed the chance to go to Taman Tun Sardon for ‘serabai’ breakfast. Yeah, I’ve been hooked up to ‘serabai’ since the first time I tried it during twin cousins, Ekha & Kaina and grandma were here.
So, went to the Rope Walk @ Lorong Kulit but nothing really attract my attention. Looking for Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck from the uncle that i bought Salina from, but he doesn’t have it. Oh but we saw IPhone instead. But didn’t ask how much would he sell. Then, had lunch at Astaka Selera Stadium, next to the Penang Stadium and near the Lorong Kulit.
Then we headed to Upper Penang Road for the Little Penang Street Market. Last weekend was the 4th anniversary of the voluntary street market, which opens every last Sunday of the month.
Street opera performance by a Japanese soprano, Ranko Kurano. Check my Qik for her video.
After that, we went all over Penang (ok, not really. i was exaggerating :P ) to find cempedak goreng. Yes, I wanted cempedak goreng that bad since like weeks ago and I couldn’t find any in Parit Buntar and Nibong Tebal area. :/
We went round and round to some places in Penang and kept looking, till we found a small stall in a housing area in Jelutung selling the cempedak goreng. Wooott!! Marvellous! Then went to another place - which I am not sure what’s the name of the place, a new place by the sea - hang out there to have the wonderfully taste cempedak goreng. XD
Then, after we finished with the cempedak goreng, guess where we headed to?
My tour guide of the day ( yes, i retired of being the tour guide for the weekend ;p ) brought me to a place named Relau. Why did we go to Relau…? Well, in Relau, there’s a place selling fruits on the roadside.
The one thing that i like about this place is you can buy the fruits and dine-in there. The place is really nice and clean.
And this is what we came here for………
Now, what do we do after eating the durian? The old folks say, to prevent our body from the heat of eating durian, we should drink the water from the ‘pasung’ durian. And that’s exactly what I did. :P
After finished the fruit fiesta, we went hanging out in front of Queensbay area, watching the kite-flying here are there. Honestly, I’ve never ever succeed in flying a kite. But that was during the childhood. Never tried to fly a kite after i turned 17. Should really try it again some times – till I can finally make the kite flies.
No. This is not a bird, or a Batman! This is a kite.
The Penang Bridge. Also, since 1985! ;)
Well hey, anybody misses this? Err… i mean the satay ikan, not the brother. :P
I really need a new lens. At least a new kit lens. Shooting with the manual focus sucks to the max! Gggrrrr!!
p/s: Thank you, tour guide of the day, for the cempedak goreng & durian!! You know you’re the best!!! :D

When the family gathers
06.01.10
I spend my New Year Eve on the train on my way back home and spend the 1st weekend of 2010 at home. Nice. ;)
On Jan 2nd, cousin Along organized a family lunch to celebrate her Mom & Dad‘s 30th anniversary. We had lunch at Khadijah’s Kitchen, PJ owned by one of Malaysian top singer Khadijah Ibrahim.
Along ordered quite a lot of dishes. Nak bagi pecah perut jugak la. But the food are nice. Kene dengan selera.
Some of the dishes…
Appetizer – Cucur udang & tofu goreng
Sambal udang & terung goreng cili
Sotong masak hitam. My all time favourite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sotong masak hitam is my favourite food an since i was very very small. :D bukan senang nak jumpa restaurant yg jual this tau. and i bet most of you never even try this, right? hehe
Kurma ayam
lagi ada asam pedas tenggiri & daging salai masak lemak.
the crew i just realize lately i buy a lot of plain black shirt/blouse the organizer – cousin Along
then after we finished eating the main course and chit chatting and camwhoring, then came the desserts…
and thank Along for this……………….. ubi kayu rebus & sambal tumis yummmmyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
to our luck, Kathy was there during our lunch gathering. she looks so gorgeous and beautiful for her age. and she is so friendly. just like when we saw her on TV or on stage.
mum used to work with Kathy’s sis-in-law (Latiff Ibrahim’s wife) I cant stop capturing her pics. I want to look like her in my 40s.
wall of fame
and there went my aunt & uncle’s anniversary lunch. thank you, Along!!
On Monday morning, while i was still lazily half-awake on my bed, my aunty (Ibu) woke me up, telling me that my uncle passed away in his sleep. I cancel my monday night ticket back to campus and stayed another night in KL, at my aunt's house in Cheras and got back to campus last night.
Al-fatihah..may he rest in peace…
